Week 10: Answer boards and social searching

Answer boards can be useful as a tool to tap in to expertise from around the world. I recently posted a question on 'Rootsweb.com' regarding a genealogy problem. I am still to receive a reply, but know that I will get one down the track. This is all well for simple, general questions but would we use this for medical or psychological queries...I hope not. Also we should be aware that there may be people out there who use Answer boards for their own vested interests ie. to push a particular political view or to sell/market a product. Don't have much more to say on this....
