Catch up week.....

Looking back, I can see the uses for blogs and podcasts in our library. The only concern is time...with a lot of us juggling lots of projects, information requests, desk shifts, keeping on top of emails etc....there doesn't seem to be much time left over to put in time on blogs/podcasts etc.....unless they are special projects....

Over these few weeks though, I have thought of a really good idea for a personal blog......

'Travels with my dad' blog. I am thinking of taking my 83 year old father to Europe next year.....'for the last time'(his words). I can't think of a better way of keeping my family and friends informed of our escapades. It would be much better than using emails, because those that wanted, could tune in and look at our photos, videos, comments etc. Mmmmm sounds promising....

This is a great idea - we never said the tools would not have 'real life' applications as well as work ones!

In my family we use a blog for our interstate Christmas lists [what sizes the kids are, who has outgrown Barbie etc.]

Travelling round Europe with your Dad blog just about sounds like a new novel ... and we will be avidly living vicariously reading along. There's a young Japanese girl making a fortune out of a romance 'novel' published from mobile txts ... minimalism in the extreme except for the fortune she is making ... your blog could be the new cult publication ... you will have more funds to do more travelling with Dad!
